Our simple citrus vinaigrette combines the crisp flavors of lemons and oranges to create a sweet yet tart salad dressing!

If you follow our blog then you know we already have some great vinaigrette recipes.

Kim and I love the flavor combination of vinegar and sweet fruits like strawberries and blueberries.

In fact, we even have a homemade raspberry vinaigrette recipe. You should definitely try that one at some point.

For today’s recipe, we decided to prepare a fresh salad dressing that can be enjoyed anytime of the year.

The citrus vinaigrette served with a fresh spring salad.

Our orange citrus vinaigrette uses fresh oranges and lemons to create the perfect balance of sweet and tart.

You don’t need anything special for this recipe! Similar to our homemade Italian dressing, it can be mixed in a bowl or a mason jar with a lid.

Kim even included step-by-step instructions and a video (above) so you can see how to make salad dressing in a mason jar.

How to make a citrus vinaigrette dressing?

First, start by gathering all the ingredients. Go ahead and juice the lemon and orange.

Next, grab a mason jar, with the lid. and add the orange juice, lemon juice, and all the spices.

After that, measure out and add the olive oil and white wine vinegar.

Once you have everything in the jar, put on the lid and get ready to shake the ingredients.

Olive oil, vinegar, and spices added to the citrus juices.

Last, shake the jar until you have a smooth vinaigrette. Take a look at the photo below for an example of the finished product.

That’s it, your orange citrus salad dressing is done! Kim and I hope you enjoy the recipe and wish you all the best 🙂

  • On a side note, if you don’t have a mason jar, you can place all the ingredients into a medium mixing bowl and use a whisk to combine them.
  • Alternatively, you can also make this citrus vinaigrette dressing in a small blender or food processor.

Tips for making our salad dressing:

  • I recommend tasting the orange before you mix the dressing. That way, you can determine how sweet it will turn out when finished.
  • If it’s too sweet, you can add a little (1/4 teaspoon) of extra lemon juice to the dressing. On the other hand, if it’s bitter, then consider adding a little (1/4 teaspoon) of any sweetener you like (honey, sugar, agave nectar, etc.).
  • Whenever we make a salad, Kim or I will always make homemade croutons. Just to a buttery crunch to the dish.
