French Dip Sliders

These French Dip Sliders really are a classic! The perfect combination of hearty roast beef, gooey cheese, sweet and spicy onions, served with a side of savory Au Jus. Make a batch for Labor Day or Opening Day to celebrate your favorite team getting back on the field!

Sliders are the perfect snack to fit in your hand, and trust me – you’ll have to stop yourself from eating the whole tray. Just be sure to grab a napkin because these flavors just can’t be contained!

Typically, French Dip sandwiches are made by slow cooking roast beef and using the drippings from the meat to create the au jus. Our recipe opts for roast beef right from the deli and is topped with a seasoned salt mustard sauce for an extra touch.

This French Dip Sliders recipe might be quick and simple, but it certainly doesn’t skimp out on any of the classic flavors!

Mix things up and try our Pizza Sliders or Thanksgiving Sliders. Both flavors are perfect for game day snacks or a lazy afternoon binging on your favorite TV show.

How To Make French Dip Sliders

For the Sliders:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Leave the slider buns intact and slice them in half lengthwise. Place the bottom half of the buns into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  3. Lay the cheese slices over the buns, then top with the sliced roast beef. Add the onions, and place the tops of the buns back onto the sliders. Set aside.

For the Mustard Sauce:

  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and seasoned salt.
  2. Pour the mixture over the sliders.
  3. Bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  4. Use a sharp knife to separate the sliders. Serve hot with a side of au jus. Either homemade or store bought works great!

  1. Looks really good. I made the sauce first to see how it would taste before doing full recipe and found the sauce to be too buttery. Would it taste differently poured over sliders and baked?

    1. Hi Sandra!

Thanks so much! The sauce is very rich and buttery by itself, but it mixes well with the sliders when they’re baked together. The butter flavor is toned down since it soaks into the buns. Another option is to reduce the butter some or even add some brown sugar in place of the mustard for a sweet and savory dish instead. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

  2. I’m planning on trying this recipe for the sliders, however, I couldn’t find any info on the au jus. Does it need to be purchased or is there a recipe to make it from scratch?
    Thanks
