When it comes to dipping Oreo cookies, there are easily a hundred different ways a person can enjoy his or her favorite cookie. In our home, we use the Chocolate Dipped Dunk.

Golden Oreo cookies have been one sweet treat Kim, and I have enjoyed over the years. However, it wasn’t until recently that we started thinking about changing our dunking style.

Chocolate dipped Oreo dipped in milk.

For a long time, we always used the traditional milk and cookie dunk. It was a simple and satisfying technique.

One evening, I was sitting on the couch with Kim, and we were trying to decide on an easy dessert. We were both too exhausted to cook anything.

Fortunately, we had some Oreo cookies in the cabinet. It also just so happened, we had some tempered dark chocolate wafers.

It seemed to hit us both at the same time. Dip the Golden Oreo cookies in dark chocolate, then dip the cookies in milk!

It was too perfect. You get the decadence of dark chocolate along with the same sweet creaminess of milk-dipped cookies.

Furthermore, if you hold the Oreo on the cookie side, you can submerge the chocolate side in milk without it breaking.

Then you get the perfect combination of chocolate, creamy, and crunchy.

Instructions:

First, fill a small saucepan half full with water and bring to a low simmer on medium heat. Then add all chocolate wafers into a medium metal mixing bowl.

Place mixing bowl on top of the heated water. Stir continuously until chocolate melts. Avoid letting the water boil; otherwise, the chocolate may burn.

Once the chocolate is completely melted, remove it from the heat. Dip individual Golden Oreo cookies into chocolate half way.

Let chocolate drip from the cookie, do not wipe away the excess chocolate, or it may scrape off the Oreo.

After each cookie has been dipped, lay it on a silicon mat or wax paper. Continue dipping process until you have the number of cookies you want.

Place the mat or wax paper into the refrigerator for approximately 10 minutes for the chocolate to set. Don’t leave it for too long or the chocolate will sweat when removed from the fridge.

When the cookies have set, all you need to do is pick your favorite beverage, dip and enjoy!
