Key Lime Pie Ice Cream
Place heavy cream, milk, egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla in a saucepan.
Stir to combine over low to medium heat until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
Pour the mixture through a mesh sieve, and allow to cool before covering with plastic wrap. Move to the refrigerator to cool completely.
After the custard cools, pour it into a prepared ice cream machine.
Churn the ice cream until it reaches the soft serve stage, then add the key lime juice.
Continue to churn for an additional 10 minutes until the ice firms up a bit.
Transfer to a freezer safe container, and freeze until completely set.
Serve cold in a bowl or in ice cream cones.
