Ingredients
16ouncesblackberriesfresh or frozen
1cupgranulated sugar
½cupwater
1teaspoonfreshly squeezed lemon juice
Instructions
Place the blackberries, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan.
16 ounces blackberries, 1 cup granulated sugar, ½ cup water
Cook over medium heat until the blackberries break down into a pulp and the sugar dissolves. If necessary, use a potato masher to mash the fruit.
Remove from heat, and stir in the lemon juice. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove any thick parts.
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
Store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator until ready to use.
