Homemade Pizza Dough
Heat the water to 110°-115°F, then add the yeast and sugar. Stir and set aside to activate.
The yeast should look foamy, bubbly, and tan in color after about 10 minutes.
Place flour and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer.
After the yeast activates, pour it into the bowl with the flour and salt.
Use a dough hook attachment to mix for 5-6 minutes until a smooth, elastic dough forms. Add more flour, a tablespoon at a time, as needed if the dough is too sticky.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and allow to double in size (about 30-60 minutes).
Transfer the dough to a well-floured surface, knead it 4-5 times and divide in half. Stretch it beginning in the center working outward, then place on pizza pans.
Top with your favorite toppings and bake at 400°F. Bake times vary depending on toppings. Bake until the crust is golden brown and toppings are cooked.
