Buttermilk Pancakes

Preheat a skillet over low-medium heat, and melt a teaspoon of butter in the skillet. While the butter melts, make the batter.

Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, baking soda, salt, egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla in a large bowl. 

Pour 1/4 cup of batter into the hot skillet. Flip after bubbles form on the surface and the edges crisp. Top with butter and syrup.
