Instructions
To Make the Simple Syrup
Add the water and granulated sugar to a small saucepan and stir.
1 cup water, 1 cup granulated sugar
Heat over low to medium heat, while stirring, until the sugar fully dissolves and the mixture looks clear.
Remove from the heat, let it cool to room temperature, then transfer to a jar and chill until cold.
To Make the Cocktail
Fill a cocktail shaker about halfway with ice.
Add the cranberry juice, vodka, simple syrup, and lime juice.
3 ounces cranberry juice, 1 ½ ounces vodka, 1 ½ ounces simple syrup, ½ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
Seal the shaker and shake until the outside feels cold.
Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice and garnish with a lime wedge and cranberries.

If possible, make the simple syrup ahead of time and chill it in the fridge.
Normally I'd use 100% cranberry juice. It's less sweet than cranberry juice concentrate. When I updated the photos (Dec 2025), I used cranberry juice concentrate making the cocktail sweeter and lighter in color.
Any of the ingredients can be adjusted to taste.
