Quick, simple and so delicious! This ham cream cheese pinwheels appetizer features flavored cream cheese, deli ham, and pickled jalapenos.

Who doesn't love a tasty pinwheel? Rich cream cheese flavored with spices and loaded with all kinds of goodies.

For today's recipe, we're sharing our version of ham pinwheels featuring a blend of seasonings and the added kick of jalapenos.

If you're not a fan of spicy dishes, then you can always use pickles or dill relish in place of the diced peppers or try our ham flatbread recipe.

Also, you may have noticed we recommend using tortillas in the recipe card. But, as you can see in the photos, we used lavash wraps instead.

Because, at the time, we were unable to get a hold of tortillas large enough to make the ham pinwheels.

The only reason I mentioned it was to point out that this ham pinwheels recipe can be modified in multiple ways. Just like most other recipes.

Oh, all you need to make this recipe is a kitchen knife, cutting board, medium mixing bowl, and a rubber spatula.

How to make ham cream cheese pinwheels?

First, start by removing your cream cheese from the fridge. It will need to soften for at least an hour before making the dish.

Cream cheese, spices, and jalapenos in a mixing bowl.

Next, grab a medium sized bowl and combine the following ingredients:

  • 8 ounces of cream cheese
  • 2-tablespoons chopped pickled jalapenos
  • ¼-teaspoon salt
  • ¼-teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼-teaspoon onion powder
  • â…›-teaspoon black pepper
The cream cheese and other ingredients have been combined to make a filling.

Now, use your rubber spatula to blend the ingredients into a smooth, creamy, filling.

After that, place your tortilla (or lavash wrap) onto a flat surface like a counter-top or a cutting board.

The flatbread has been placed on the counter.

Then, dump the spiced cream cheese and jalapeno mixture onto the tortilla (or wrap).

Afterward, use the spatula to spread the mixture out into an even layer. It can go all the way to the edges if needed.

The creamy cheese filling has been evenly spread onto the wrap.

At this point, it's time to start adding the deli sliced ham. Place the meat on top of the cream cheese filling.

Take a look at the photo below. Your ham and cream cheese pinwheels should look similar.

A layer of deli sliced ham has been placed over the filling.

Once the meat and cheese has been placed onto the tortilla, go ahead and roll everything up into a log.

We started on the left side and rolled towards the right. When using a tortilla, you can start at the bottom or the sides. It doesn't matter.

The wrap has been rolled up into a log.

All that's left to do is to wrap the log in plastic wrap and place it into your fridge for an hour to firm up the cheese.

Last, remove the ham and cheese roll from the fridge, remove the plastic wrap, and slice it into pinwheels.

That's it, your ham cream cheese pinwheels recipe is done! Kim and I hope you enjoy the appetizer and wish you all the best 🙂

Don't forget, if you have leftover ham, you can always try our cheesy ham biscuits for breakfast.

Good Afternoon Pauline, sure you can use turkey instead of ham. It shouldn't change the recipe. Have a lovely day 🙂
