Eggnog Latte
This easy eggnog latte is made with strong coffee, creamy eggnog, milk, vanilla, and a little nutmeg. The warm eggnog mixture gets lightly frothed then it’s poured over the coffee. You get more of that coffee-shop latte feel without needing special equipment.

It’s creamy and lightly sweet. You can always add more brown sugar if your eggnog isn’t sweet enough. I like that you can taste the eggnog without the coffee being too heavy.
During the holidays, I’d much rather make my favorite coffee drinks at home than deal with crowded coffee shops. This one only takes about 10 minutes, and a little whipped cream and nutmeg add an extra touch.
Kim’s Tip for the Best Eggnog Latte
Use strong brewed coffee so the flavor doesn’t disappear once you add the eggnog and milk. Espresso works well, too, but stick with 2 to 3 ounces. You can use 1 ounce but I think it gets lost in the eggnog.
Heat the eggnog mixture just until it begins to lightly simmer, then take it off the heat. Use a handheld mixer frother or a whisk to make it foamy. It doesn’t need to look like coffee-shop foam to make a delicious latte.
The finished drink is lightly sweet, so give it a taste before adding the full amount of brown sugar. Different brands of eggnog can vary in sweetness quite a bit.
Have extra eggnog left in the carton? Use it to make our eggnog bread or easy eggnog waffles. For another homemade holiday coffee, our peppermint mocha is always a good one.
How to Make an Eggnog Latte

Prepare the coffee: Brew a cup of strong coffee or make 2 to 3 ounces of espresso. Pour it into your favorite coffee mug, then stir in the brown sugar and vanilla until the sugar dissolves.

Warm the eggnog mixture: Add the eggnog, milk, and nutmeg to a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the mixture is hot and just begins to lightly simmer, then remove it from the burner.

Froth the mixture: Use a milk frother, immersion blender, or whisk to add a light layer of foam. The mixture may not froth quite as much as plain milk because the eggnog is thicker, and that’s perfectly fine.

Finish the latte: Slowly pour the warm eggnog mixture over the coffee and give it a stir. Add whipped cream and another sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon if you’d like.

Notes
- This latte is creamy and lightly sweet. Start with less brown sugar, then add more after tasting if needed.
If you opt for espresso, use only 2 to 3 ounces so the coffee does not overpower the eggnog. - Cold brew works well in place of brewed coffee or espresso for the iced version.
- Either store-bought or homemade eggnog works.
- If you don’t have a milk frother, use an immersion blender or whisk the warm mixture until lightly foamy.
