Ham Hock and Beans
Add onion, garlic, bay leaves, pepper, and ham hocks to a large pan or Dutch oven.
Pour in the chicken broth and water, and heat over medium heat. Cook for at least 1 hour or more.
Discard bay leaves, remove meat from ham hocks and return to pan, stir in beans, and cook for 15 to 20 more minutes.
Serve hot with a side of cornbread.
