Christmas Brownies
These Christmas brownies are fudgy chocolate brownies baked in a muffin pan with a chocolate truffle melted right in the center. Each one gets topped with holiday sprinkles and a dusting of powdered sugar.

These are some of my go-to brownies during December. They’re more festive than a basic pan of brownies, but they don’t require piping, frosting, or any decorating skills.
The truffle in the center adds a rich, indulgent touch without mixing up extra ingredients.
I also love that these individual Christmas brownies are already portioned. There’s no pan to cut into squares and no crumbly edges to deal with.
Just pop them out of the muffin pan, and they’re ready to serve, gift, or add to a Christmas dessert tray.

A Few Tips for the Best Brownies
Add the truffles while the brownies are hot. Press them into the centers as soon as the pan comes out of the oven. If the brownies cool first, the truffles will sit on top instead of melting into the centers.
Watch the baking time closely. A couple of extra minutes can turn fudgy brownies into dry ones. Take them out when a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs instead of being completely clean.
Grease the muffin pan well or use liners. The brownies can stick around the edges, especially right around the top.
Try another truffle flavor. I used mint chocolate cookie truffles, but peppermint, caramel, or hazelnut would also work. Use whichever flavor you already enjoy.
How to Make Christmas Brownies
Start by preheating the oven to 350°F, then grease a 12-cup muffin pan well. Make sure you coat the bottoms and sides of each cup so the brownies release cleanly once they’ve cooled.
Melt the butter and milk chocolate chips together in a large microwave-safe bowl. Use short bursts and stir between each one. Chocolate can go from perfectly smooth to scorched pretty quickly, so be patient.

Mix in the sugar and eggs, then stir in the heavy cream.
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda, and mix just until you don’t see any dry streaks. There’s no need to keep stirring once the batter comes together.

Divide the batter between the muffin cups and bake for 15 to 18 minutes. This is the part where you’ll want the truffles unwrapped and ready to go.
As soon as the brownies come out of the oven, press one into the center of each brownie while they’re still hot.

Let the Christmas brownies cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes. Add the holiday sprinkles while the truffle centers are still a little warm so they stick, then dust the tops with powdered sugar just before serving.

Storing the Brownies
Keep leftover Christmas brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 to 4 days. Warm one in the microwave for about 10 seconds to soften the truffle center again.
To freeze them, let the brownies cool completely and place them in an airtight container or freezer bag. Freeze for up to 2 months, then thaw at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving.
The centers may not be quite as gooey after freezing, but they’ll still taste good.
