Cherry Simple Syrup

Place the cherries, sugar, water, and lemon juice in a medium saucepan.

Simmer and smash the cherries as they cook. Continue to cook for 8 to 10 minutes.

Pour through a mesh sieve, and allow to cool. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
