Easy Virgin Mojitos
These virgin mojitos are fizzy, minty, and so refreshing. They come together in about 15 minutes with just a few simple ingredients.

This drink came about completely by accident. My usual is a coconut rum mojito. I went to mix one up one night and noticed I was all out of rum.
So I just left it out. Turns out a virgin mojito is just as good, and I loved it just as much.
Now I make them all summer long. They’re cold, fizzy, and so easy to whip up. And with no rum, I can sip one any time of day.
The best part? You only need a few simple ingredients to make them.

Tips for the Best Virgin Mojitos
Go easy on the mint. If you mash the mint too hard, your drink turns bitter and grassy. Bruise it, don’t crush it.
Chill your club soda. Warm soda melts the ice faster and causes the mojito to go flat.
Taste before you add the soda. My cocktails and mocktails are a little on the sweet side. Start with half the simple syrup, give it a taste, then add more only if you want it.
How to Make Virgin Mojitos
You’ll need a small saucepan for the syrup and a cocktail shaker for the drink. No shaker? A big mason jar with a lid works too.
Make the simple syrup first.
Add the granulated sugar and water to a small pan over low-medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then take it off the heat.
Let it cool all the way before you make your drink. Warm syrup will melt your ice.

Make the mojito.
Put the mint leaves and sugar in your shaker. Press them gently with a muddler.
Add the simple syrup, lime juice, and ice. If you like yours less sweet, start with half the syrup and add more to taste. Put the lid on and shake.

Pour it into a glass over fresh ice, but don’t strain it. Top off with some club soda, and add some lime wedges and a sprig of mint on top.
Serve it right away while it’s cold and fizzy.
How to Store Leftovers
A mojito is best fresh, so I don’t store the finished drink. But you can make the simple syrup ahead!
Keep it in a jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Then your next mojito is even faster.
Got extra mint from the garden? Make a batch of mint simple syrup for an even fresher drink.
