Wondering what to serve with your mahi mahi dinner? The best side dishes are often the simplest. Those are the ones that complement the flavors of the fish and make your recipe the star of the show!

Mahi mahi, or dolphin fish, is a mild and flaky white fish with a subtly sweet flavor. It can be prepared via grilling, baking, frying, steaming, searing, you name it.

Additionally, since it has a relatively mild flavor, it takes on all types of seasonings super well.

My favorite ways to prepare mahi mahi are to make my Mahi Mahi Tacos with Fish Taco Slaw or Grilled Mahi Mahi.

Both recipes feature fresh or frozen mahi mahi filets rubbed with oil and sweet, spicy seasonings, then cooked until tender, flaky, and perfect.

No matter what way you plan to prepare and serve your mahi mahi, your meal can always be made better with a mouthwatering side dish.

So I’ve put together all of my favorite sides to serve with mahi mahi. Pick one or enjoy a few for a well-rounded feast!

Is Mahi Mahi Good for You?

Yes! Like many other varieties of fish, mahi mahi has a great source of protein.

It also has some omega-3 fatty acids and contains a variety of different vitamins and minerals.

Is Mahi Mahi High in Mercury?

Nope! Mercury levels in mahi mahi are said to be low to moderate, especially compared to the mercury levels in other types of fish.

Should You Remove Skin from Mahi Mahi?

You should leave the skin on mahi mahi as it cooks then remove the skin for serving. The skin keeps the fish moist and flavorful while it cooks, but isn’t suitable for eating.
