Wondering what to serve with shrimp tacos? There are so many great side dishes that you may want to make more than one! From Cilantro Lime Rice to Spicy Coleslaw, you can’t go wrong with any of our delicious side dish options.

My grilled shrimp tacos are one of my favorite meals to make. Fresh shrimp seasoned to perfection, grilled until slightly charred and juicy, then served topped with fresh tomato and avocado salsa? It’s the perfect meal for summer.

And that tasty meal can be made even better with a number of delicious sides! So, I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite sides for shrimp tacos.

Can You Grill Shrimp Without Peeling?

You can if you want, but I prefer to peel it first.

Removing the shell before adding the seasoning allows that flavor to really soak into the meaty part of the shrimp.

Should You Soak Shrimp Before Grilling?

That is totally up to you. Some people like to soak their shrimp in a brine before cooking it to prevent the shrimp from drying out as it cooks.

I don’t find this necessary. I cook shrimp without soaking and it comes out plenty tender and juicy every time!

How Long Does it Take to Grill Shrimp?

Grilling shrimp is so quick and easy! Once it’s prepped and seasoned, it needs just 2-3 minutes on one side, then another 30 seconds to a minute on the other side.

What to Use to Season Shrimp

While shrimp can be seasoned plenty of different ways, I love to season it using my homemade fajita seasoning, which is made with a combination of chili powder, paprika, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, chipotle pepper, and optional sugar.

Another option is homemade taco seasoning which is similar to fajita seasoning with a couple of ingredient variations.
